Director of Public Relations, Communications & Marketing

Position Overview:
Dar al-Kalima University is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Public Relations, Communications & Marketing to lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies that elevate the university’s visibility, reputation, and engagement with internal and external audiences.
The Director will serve as a key advisor on brand management, media relations, institutional messaging, and digital marketing. This role collaborates closely with university leadership, colleges, and departments to ensure alignment with the university’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement integrated PR, communications, and marketing strategies to enhance the university’s profile locally, nationally, and globally.
  • Oversee media relations efforts, acting as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and fostering relationships with journalists and press outlets.
  • Lead strategic communications planning for major university initiatives, events, campaigns, and announcements.
  • Manage content development for digital platforms, including the university website, social media, newsletters, and internal communications.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communications and marketing materials in alignment with the university’s identity standards.
  • Supervise and mentor a small team of professionals.
  • Collaborate with admissions, advancement, academic departments, and student affairs to support enrollment, alumni engagement, and student success.
  • Monitor media coverage, analytics, and campaign performance to measure effectiveness and inform future strategies.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (PhD degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing, preferably within a higher education or mission-driven environment.
  • Strong leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for varied audiences in Arabic and English.
  • Deep understanding of digital communications platforms, trends, and analytics.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and within a shared governanceenvironment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends/travel as needed for events and conferences.
